Orange County Permanent Makeup

What is Permanent Make-Up?
Permanent Makeup is the art of Micropigment Implantation; a process by which tiny droplets of custom colored pigment is skillfully implanted into the second layer of the skin, called the dermis layer to simulate natural looking color or well-defined make-up.

What is Medical Micropigmentation?
Medical Micropigmentation is the camouflaging of skin discolorations to help restore features taken away by surgery, aging, disease or by unfortunate circumstances that have altered one's appearance. The discoloration is camouflaged to a person's natural skin tone or hair color resulting in a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.

What to look for in a Technician?
The technician you choose should have; Certification in Micropigmentation, Certification in Blood Born Pathogens, Certification in Makeup Artistry, A member of the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals, Permit from the Health Department, Permit with the City in which they work, and have Liability Insurance. These certifications should be on display in your technician's room! When performing a procedure they should be gloved, gowned, goggled, masked and have barrier film on all their equipment. Ask to see their before and after pictures. If your technician lacks any of these credentials do not use them, your health and facial beauty is at risk!

Is Permanent Make-Up safe?
Your health and safety are my priority! I am Bloodborne Pathogens Certified to keep you safe and healthy from the spread of disease like HIV and Hepatitis. All procedures are performed using disposable supplies that follow strict sanitation and sterilization guidelines as required by the Center of Disease Control (CDC) and OSHA regulations. Permanent Makeovers is a clean, safe, and sterilized environment that has been inspected and permitted by the Orange County Health Department.

What is the "Cost" of Permanent Makeup?
Ask yourself how much is your health and facial beauty worth to you? You should understand that Permanent Makeup is an invasive procedure that is permanent and on your face! Your health and facial beauty is far too important to pick an unskilled technician that isn't qualified or certified. Don't let cost be a determining factor in your decision to choose a permanent makeup technician. You will discover the hard way that you usually "get what you pay for" in this largely unregulated industry. There are many expenses involved for the permanent makeup artist that follows State, City and the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professional regulations and guidelines.

How long will the procedure take?
Procedure times may vary depending on the area of application, the individual's case, and sensitivity. Most procedure will take anywhere from one to two hours. Four to six weeks later a touch-up session should last about 30 minutes per area.

Is the procedure uncomfortable?
A topical numbing solution is used to minimize any discomfort which in most cases is minimal. Procedures are performed with the most effective topical anesthetics providing nearly total numbing of the area.

What can I expect after the procedure?
Colors appear darker, brighter, thicker and unnatural looking in the beginning, and then lighten up 50% to a more natural look in approximately 7 to 10 days. Depending on the area, you may have swelling and redness anywhere from 24-72 hours. Keep the area tattooed moist by applying Vaseline for 5-10 days after the procedure.

How long will Permanent Make-Up last?
Many factors influence the longevity of permanent makeup such as the sun, hormones, skincare products, chlorine pools, medications and hydration of the skin. Your permanent makeup can last for several years depending on your skin and how well you care for it. Darker pigment will last longer than lighter pigment. Over time the color will lighten and you may desire to have a touch-up.
